Andreas Sandmeier
Hobby photographer, born and raised in Switzerland. After first experiences in my youth with my father's Kodak Instamatic my interest in photography was awakened.
After finishing my studies as an electrical engineer, I bought a Canon AE-1 SLR with which I deepened my knowledge in (analog) photo technology.
Then a few years of photo abstinence due to other priorities...
In the 90's then the first frustrating attempts with various compact digital cameras. Good enough to "take pictures" but definitely not what I wanted.
For this reason I bought a Nikon D7000 in 2011 and took the step into digital photography with this camera.
I am currently indulging in my hobby with cameras and lenses from OMSYSTEM (formerly OLYMPUS). Since my photographic preferences lie primarily in landscape and nature photography and I am therefore mostly outdoors, the lightweight MFT technology is very convenient for me. And the camera technology from OMSYSTEM also seems to be ideal for macro photography.
